A beautifully plated Bangus Ala Pobre, featuring golden-brown fried marinated bangus topped with crispy garlic bits and caramelized onions.

Ingredients:

  • 400g Fishta Marinated Bangus
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 3 tbsp cooking oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp calamansi juice (or lemon juice)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Chopped parsley or spring onions (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Fry the Bangus – Heat oil in a pan and fry the marinated bangus for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Set aside.
  2. Sauté Garlic & Onion – In the same pan, melt butter and sauté garlic until golden brown. Add onions and cook until soft.
  3. Make the Sauce – Stir in soy sauce, calamansi juice, black pepper, and oyster sauce (if using). Simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Combine & Simmer – Return the fried bangus to the pan and spoon the sauce over the fish. Let it cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Serve & Enjoy – Garnish with chopped parsley or spring onions and serve hot with rice.
